*The Cantor’s Culture Club Presents...* Clap your hands, stomp your feet, and learn the rhythm of the beat as children join Cantor Bortnick and guests for this wonderful cultural program. Several times each year Cantor Bortnick visits us with a wonderful musician or musical act to expose the children to different musical styles and cultures. As a part of the Early Childhood Centers, this program will introduce children to various forms of music, both vocal and instrumental through special guest artists. This program is sponsored by the Early Childhood Centers and the Edlavitch-Tyser Family Relations Fund and concerts are open to congregants with children the same age as the school attendees. Our first "Culture Club" of the year is with Billy B., a well-known and well-loved performer who cares deeply about our environment. *Billy B.: The Natural Science Song and Dance Man* From Alaska to Florida, for Presidents and Head Starters, on TV and radio, and in thousands of schools, Billy B.’s shows burst with songs and dances about swamps, estuaries, biodiversity, energy, rainforests, geology and natural wonders. Knowing that kids want to do two things – move and make noise – Billy creates kinetic learning experiences, and leads audiences in hip-hop dances representing tectonic plate movements, bits of ballet in the Dragonfly dance (a la James Brown), and a call-and-response blues about worms. Billy’s unique brand of environmental education is humorous and participatory, furthering his audience’s understanding of the natural world.
