Shalom.
I would like to introduce myself as Ellen Share. I am the librarian at Washington Hebrew Congregation and every month, I will give short reviews, list new books in the library, and keep you updated on library programs. I hope every congregant can commit to reading at least one Jewish book this year.
It is a perfect time to start reading books of Jewish interest. In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the modern State of Israel, there has been a plethora of publishing. Everyone can find a book that will hold their interest.
I have created The Librarian’s List of special books for your consideration. They are all highly recommended and located in the Hurston Library which is located on the first floor of the Temple on Macomb Street.
If you email or call, I will see that the books are available at either the Temple or JBSC for pick-up. If it is not possible to pick them up, let me know and I will make arrangements to have the books delivered. Feel free to contact me with suggestions about how our libraries can better serve you. I will be delighted to hear from you. You can e-mail me at eshare@whctemple.org or call me at 301.354.3212.
